A native of Spartanburg County, daughter of the late Samuel and Birdie Riddle, she was a retired employee of Raycord and Horton's Cleaners. Mrs. High was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Surviving are one son, Samuel J. High of Wellford; a daughter, Louise H. Cummings of Roebuck; one brother, Sam Riddle of Fairforest; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Mrs. High was predeceased by one son, John D. High, one grandson, Tony High, one brother, Hugh Riddle, and three sisters, Mattie Bradley, Ruby Brown, and Dot Morrow. Graveside services will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. Monty King, Rev. Harold Johnson, and Chuck Wright. Visitation will be held 1:30-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home. Memorials may be made to Mobile Meal Service for Spartanburg County, 419 E.
