William "Bill" Morris, 70, of Mayfield died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April, 1, 2004, at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah.

He was a retired Mayfield Fire Department Captain with 32 years of service. He was also the owner and operator of Diamond B Stables and was involved for many years with the Graves County Riding Club. He was a member of American Quarter Horse Association and taught in the Mayfield/Graves County Enrichment programs. He was a member of the First Assembly of God.

His survivors include his wife, Mary Morris, Mayfield; three sons, Richard H. (Marcia) Morris and Christian (Judy) Morris, both of Mayfield, and Ronnie (Diana) Morris, El Dorado, Ark.; two daughters, Rhonda Morris (Keith) Bowman, and Makayla Morris (Timothy) Sullivan, both of Mayfield; three brothers, Bobby (Sylvia) Morris, Mayfield, Harold (Judy) Morris, San Antonio, Texas, and David W. Morris, Clinton Township, Mich.; three sisters, Wanda Sasseen, and Cindy (Ronald) Blalock, both of Mayfield, and Carol (Rick) Johnson, Wauconda, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Orville Herman and Annie Irene Wright Morris.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Ronnie Morris and the Rev. Mark Wilhoite officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Saturday at Byrn Funeral Home.
