Mr. Petersen came to American in 1888 residing in Waterloo, Iowa until the spring of 1895 when he moved with his family near Ruskin, Nebr.
He was united in marriage to Miss Caroline Hansen Dec. 10, 1892 and to this union, eleven children were born. Two children died in infancy, and one son, Theodore, died in June 1924 at the age of 18.
The surviving children are Miss Margaret of Avalon, Calif.; Otto W and Jesse of Lincoln, Marvin of Stanton, Iowa, Mrs. Emma Salyard, Mrs. Katherine Henry, Mrs. Esther Wyatt and E. M. Petersen of Hardy. In addition, there are seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
A brother, P. C. Petersen of Blair, Nebraska and a sister, Mrs. Mary Nelson of Waterloo, Iowa also survive him, as well as a host of other relatives and friends who join the widow in mourning his passing.
Services were held Wednesday afternoon in Scott's Mortuary at Hardy conducted by the Rev. Harry Gleim. Burial was in the Ruskin Cemetery.
