Son of James O & Elizabeth M (Cullough) Lee.
Per the 1860 census he was the father of Betsy (12), George (11), Oliver (9) and Charles (3). Headstone provided by D W Whitney for Union Civil War veteran: Pvt., Company A, Massachusetts 3rd Cavalry Regiment.

He had originally enlisted in 41st Mass Volunteers Co A. which was merged with the 3d Mass Regiment upon reaching Louisiana.

Listed on the "Roll of Honor" of the New Bedford, Massachusetts City Council listing soldiers and sailors from the area who died during the Civil War. Per New Bedford City Council, May, 1869.
