Mrs. Belgy was born October 13, 1919, in Mississippi, the daughter of John H. Stackhouse and Rosie Wilkins Stackhouse. She worked as a farmer for Thompson Place in Mississippi most of her life, retiring in 1994.
She was united in holy matrimony to LeRoy Belgy in 1944; he preceded her in death in 1994.
Her parents; two sisters; sixteen brothers; and one niece, Lavern Brownlee have preceded her in death.
Surviving are nieces, Dorothy Brownlee of Springfield and Rosie Stringer of East St. Louis; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. followed by services at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Walker Funeral Service, 2300 E. Cook St. Burial will be held in Oak Hill Cemetery.
