Jacques was my first dog. My Momma was a pushover for him because he was so cute, but my Daddy took some work to convince that I would take care of him and not pass the responsibility off on them. The next day Jacques came home with me.
That first night I placed him in the bed I made for him and put him near my head so I could hear him if he needed me. To my dismay sometime after midnight puppy Jacques got out of his bed and decided to take a wee in my hair. I guess it must have felt like grass, but for me it didn't feel very good at all :o)
He was my companion for most of the ten years of his life. I had moved back home when Jacques became sick and was there when he died. It broke my heart to see him go, but he was so sick and it was the only merciful thing to do.
