Mrs. Mildred D'Alessandro, 90, a resident of the Hillcrest Spring Adult Home and formerly of Bartlett Street, Amsterdam, died Monday at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital.
Born Feb. 23, 1908 in Amsterdam. She was the daughter of George and Emily Carpenter MacDougall. She attended the Fifth Ward School in Amsterdam.
Mrs. D'Alessandro was a machine operator at the Abraham Hyden Dress Factory in Amsterdam until moving to Miami, Fla., in 1959. She returned to Amsterdam in 1980.
She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Amsterdam and also attended St. Luke's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amsterdam.
She married Nelson Crandall on July 4, 1931. He died in 1958. She then married Ralph D'Alessandro on Feb. 23, 1959. He died in 1976.
Survivors include a Brother Edwin L. MacDougall of Shreveport, La.; a sister, Mary Ackerman of Englewood, Colo.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Betz Funeral Home Inc., 171 Guy Park Ave., Amsterdam. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Amsterdam.
A calling hour will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
