She was born in Kingsland, Ark., and had been a resident of Palatka for the past seven years, coming from Brandon. She was an extraordinary seamstress and tailor. She used to make a lot of the clothing for her family and did seamstress work for others. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Brandon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey "Baldy" Speer; and one son, Richard Michael Speer.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and John Robinson, Palatka; one son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Nancy Speer, Garner, N.C.; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Friday, Feb. 20 at the Turkey Creek Cemetery in Plant City with Rev. Randall Speer officiating.
