Violet Elizabeth Glass, 82, of Faber, died Saturday morning, October 17, 2009, at the home of her daughter in Faber.

Violet was born December 19, 1926, in Orange County, a daughter of the late John Willis Wayland and Daisy Butler Wayland.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Bernard Eugene Glass; a brother, Eugene Wilson Glass; and a grandson, Edward Lee Wright Jr.

She was a retired employee of Comdial with over 20 years of service and a member of Bybees Road Baptist Church, Troy, Virginia.

She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Asbell and her husband, Tim, of Faber; two sons, Edward Lee Wright and his wife, Brenda, of Faber, and Michael W. Wright and his wife, Emily, of Ruckersville; a sister, Flora Johnson and her husband, Charles, of Palmyra; four grandchildren, Shelia Carter, Barbara Renee Wright, George Tomlin, and Timothy Asbell Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Brittany Hensley and her h usband, Toby, Michael A. Wright, Jasmine Patterson, Steven Dickerson, and Derrick Feggans; one great-great- grandchild, Aubrie Hensley.

A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at Wells/Sheffield Funeral Chapel in Lovingston with the Reverend Jim Lundy and the Reverend Chuck Boone officiating.
