Funeral services for Joe A Allison, 77, were held Sunday afternoon at Whitson Funeral Home with burial in the Rhea cemetery. Mr Allison died Saturday morning in Cookeville City hospital after a short illness.
Son of the late Robert and Polly Lowe Allison, he was a native of Putnam, a retired farmer and made his home on the Old Buffalo Valley Road.
He is survived by a daughter, Miss Opal Allison, Cookeville; 3 sons, Julius, Detroit; Odus, Las Vegas, NV; Thurman, Downey, Ill; 2 brothers, George, Detroit; Pierce, Cookeville; a sister, Mrs Dow Maddux, Cookeville; 2 grandchildren.
