Mrs. Effie Barnhart,94 of Decatur died yesterday in Decatur and Macon county hospital after a one day illness. A lifetime resident of this county she was a charter member and teacher of the Friendly Circle Bible Class and president of the Womens Society of Christian Service, both of Grace Methodist church

She was born in Macon county Oct. 10, 1870, a daughter of Asa and Lydia Carter Clothier. She was married to John D. Barnhart Oct. 30, 1889 in Decatur. He died in 1920. Survivors include a brother, Floyd Clothier, a son Dr. John D. all of Bloomington, two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Wise, Cerro Gordo and Dorothy Kellams,Decatur,65 grandchildren including Morrie E. Wise who lived with her at home 11 great grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at Grace Methodist church with burial in the Fairlawn cemetery.
