He was born June 19, 1914, in Roanoke to Louis G. and Pearl C. (Haag) Knoll. He married Dorothy S. Brooks on Aug. 24, 1939, in Carlinville, Ill. She preceded him in death on March 15, 2003.
He also was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving is one daughter, Lois Jean (Arthur) Ritthaler of Morton.
Robert managed the Washington Bowling Lanes in the mid-1930s and later built and operated Morton Bowling for eight years from 1941 to 1949. He later sold Universal Bowling, billiard and golf supplies in Illinois until 1980.
He was a member of the Morton United Methodist Church and the Pine Lakes Country Club in Washington. He also was a member of the Peoria Bowling Hall of Fame and the Illinois Bowling Hall of Fame.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
