Shalynda Monique Toney, our precious princess, went home to be with the King of Kings on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at 21 years of age. She was a senior at Hollins University, studying abroad in Rome, Italy. She was a faithful member at Inner Faith Fellowship Ministries where she served as a youth director, intercessor, and a member of the praise team. She was vibrant and beautiful, courageous and strong, and firm in her faith. She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, the Reverends Frank and Angela; her brothers, Justin and Christian; maternal grandmother, Mary E. Shelton; paternal grandfather, Frank Earl Toney Sr.; paternal grandmother, Lucille Toney Brown; her spiritual family, Inner Faith Fellowship Ministries; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends; and six grateful recipients of her donated living organs. The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Inner Faith Fellowship Ministries, 18400 Virgil Goode Hwy., Rocky Mount. A memorial service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009, at High Street Baptist Church, Roanoke. A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009, at The Galilean House of Worship, 5078 A.L. Philpott Hwy., Martinsville, with the family receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the service. The interment will be in Franklin Memorial Park.
