Murray V Evans was born August 7, 1916 in Hawkins Basin, ID to Fred Evans and Alma "Allie" Armstrong Evans. After a short time the family moved to Pocatello where they lived until about 1923. Murray attended Roosevelt School through the 2nd grade. From 1923 he, and his younger brother Willis, lived with his Uncle Will Evans and his Aunt Effie Evans in Robin ID. He worked as a young boy on the farm learning how to grow and harvest the crops and how to handle the teams of horses during the grain harvests. He completed his elementary education at Robin and graduated from Arimo HS in 1935.

In 1939 he married Velda Hansen in Burley, ID and they lived in Pocatello until her death in 1980. They were the parents of two children, a daughter Connie Evans Ringler, and a son Fred Evans. He later married Evelyn Jensen Cutler Evans with whom he lived until he died.

Murray worked for the UPRR during WWII as a boilermaker/sheet metal worker and soon after the war went to work for the US Postal Service where he worked until his retirement in 1978. During those 30 years he served as a clerk and clerk in charge at the various post offices and branches in Pocatello.

His second wife Evelyn, his children, Connie J Evans Ringler of Redmond, WA his son Fred M Evans of Pocatello, two grandchildren, Charles W "Chuck" Begg of Seattle, WA and Sarah Amanda Evans of Sandy, UT, survive him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Velda, and a brother Willis D Evans.
