Corporal Mc Kinley was a member of the 21st Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. He was seriously wounded by the enemy in South Korea on March 9, 1951 and died of those wounds on March 14, 1951. Corporal Mc Kinley was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean War Service Medal.
I have not yet found his grave site, however, he is remembered by the the citizens of Cleveland County, NC, who added his name to their memorial for fallen heroes.
