Vera Eleanor Brackeen, 97, of Cooper died Wednesday, June 22, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center in Paris. Services will be held at 1PM Friday, June 24, at the First Baptist Church in Cooper with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night. Mrs. Brackeen was born January 25, 1897 in Enloe, a daughter of John Monroe and Julia Elvira (Moore) Hagood. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Brackeen, in 1955. Surviving are a son Billy Brackeen of Seymour; two daughters, Jean Forbes of Houston and Betty Foster of Garland; one brother, Garland Hagood; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
