From Daberkow family book: In 1909 tragedy struck the family. Helen, then an active toddler of one and on-half yrs, climbed onto the kitchen table and ingested some fly bait. It was a powerful poison. She got real limp, like a rag doll. The doctor came but there was nothing that he could do for her. He said that perhaps if she had taken more it would have caused her to vomit out the poison, but he could not be sure. As it was, she lived only a few hours. She was embalmed at home and buried at Immanuel cemetery in the children's section. page 25 Daberkow Family History book.
