ALDERSON, Thomas Edward, 86, of Disputanta, formerly of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at John Randolph Medical Center. He was the son of the late Theodore E. and Goldie Norris Alderson. Mr. Alderson was a retired Sergeant and Chef in the United States Army, having served during WWII (Merrill's Marauders) and the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Mae Alderson; a daughter, Sue A. Gravel and husband, Joseph, of Disputanta; a son, Thomas Edward Alderson Jr. and wife, JoAnn, of Henrico; a brother, Norman "Max" Alderson of Indiana; five granddaughters, Donetta Dalton, Cassy Paminiano, Bree Alderson, Melissa Privitera, and Brandy Gwinn; seven great-grandchildren, Evan, Lacey, Brandon, Kaitlyn, Lindsey, Alyssa and Mya. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009 in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 301 Compton Road, Colonial Heights, with Bishop Dallas Lauchner officiating. Interment Southlawn Memorial Park, Prince George. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E.
