Ray Cox, 91, passed away on Sept. 12 in Evanston.

He was born June 26, 1918 in Woodruff, Utah to Heber Charles and Teenie Bowns Cox.

Ray married Elaine Kennedy Dec. 3, 1950 in Randolph, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Ray was a rancher. He was a member of the LDS church. He and his wife served a couple mission from 1993-1994 in the Kentucky Louisville Mission. He served his community as the justice of the peace in Rich County for many years. He was proud of his service to his country in the Army during World War II.

He enjoyed his membership in the local American Legion. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife Elaine, of Woodruff, Utah; son: James "Jim" Raymond (Patricia) Cox, of Butte, Mont.; daughters: Carol (Stuart) Hopkin, of Woodruff, Utah; Nadine (Don) Rolfson, of Houston, Texas; Rhonda (Richard) Norman, of Coppell, Texas; Michell McKinnon, of Bountiful, Utah; and Rosalie Cox, of Salt Lake City, Utah; 30 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by three brothers: James, Gilbert, and William; and two sisters: Mildred and Christina Mae; also a great-grandson, Jimmy Hopkin; and son-in-law, Jason McKinnon.

Funeral services will be on Sept. 22, at 1 p.m. in the Woodruff LDS Ward Chapel.

Friends may call at Crandall Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in the Woodruff Cemetery.
