He was the son of Olin Denton and Helen Agatha Atteberry. He was 10 years old when his family moved to Savanna, where grew up and graduated in the class of 1979. He was employed at Key Equipment Company in McAlester then moved to Duncan in 1983, where he worked for the state of Oklahoma. While in Duncan, he married Melanie Seval. He returned to McAlester in 1985, and to Key Equipment Company where he spent the remainder of his life. He enjoyed his dog and working with livestock. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson. Survivors include his son, Mitch Atteberry, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four brothers and one sister-in-law, Freddy Joe Atteberry, of McAlester, Darrell and Glenda Atteberry, of Coleman, Bruce Atteberry, of Tishomingo, Andy Atteberry, of Tishomingo. And a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and John Walker, of Coleman; his grandson, Brendan Atteberry, of Republic, Mo., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Helen Atteberry. Pallbearers include James Walker, Charles Walker, Kevin Connor, Mike Miller, Lindsey Grant and Johnny Brewer. Honorary pallbearers include Roger Key and John Stirma. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Bishop Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Charles Kerley and Cecil Day officiating. Burial will be at Savanna Cemetery, Savanna, under direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
