Peacefully passed over at Stella Maris Hospice. She is survived by her children, Cathy Whitelock, Daniel Franklin, Candis DeFea, Lane Franklin, Daryll Hartig and Joya Hance, her grandchildren, Mark and John Whitelock, Christina and David Defea and her great-grandchild Mariah.
Evelyn was a veteran of the Korean War serving as a hospital medic. After raising her family, she returned to school at the University of Maryland to pursue a bachelor's degree in accounting. She was an auditor for the Department of Agriculture until she retired in 1990. She then pursued her love to travel.
Services will be held at St. Mary of the Mills Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
