John Elser, 69, died about 5 p.m. today at his home a mile south of Ney after an illness of 15 months. He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of this area. Surviving are the wife, Amelia; two sons, Guy Elser, Evansport, and Glenn Elser, Ney; five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Obenland of Sherwood, Mrs. Gladys Carlin of West Unity, Mrs. Mildred Kimpel of Edgerton, Mrs. Mary Partee, Ney, and Mrs. Freda Lipp, Defiance; 21 grandchildren; a great grandchild; three brothers, Christ Elser, near Sherwood; Roy Elser, Osseo, Mich., and Harry Elser, Warren, O., and a sister, Mrs. Emma Kisabeth, Hicksville. The body is here at the Cretors & Kissell Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
