Minnie Julia Love was the daughter of Drue Miller and Minnie Ann Taylor Love of Coldspring, San Jacinto, County. Julia was one of the seven children in the Love family, 6 daughters and 1 son. Julia attended Sam Houston Teachers College at Huntsville, Texas, and taught for a short time.

Julia married Bennett James Roberts on August 3, 1929 at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Annie and Frank Poe. Two sons were born to this marriage: Bennett James Roberts, Jr. and Joseph Wayne Roberts. Julia and Bennett made their home in Houston, Texas, and had an active, busy life devoted to family, friends, business and church.

Julia was always active in garden clubs and involved in the school activities of her children. A wonderful wife and devoted mother, she kept a beautiful, friendly home and was a legendary cook. She adored her 3 grandsons and was an active part of their lives. She and her husband Bennett also lived in Lake Jackson and Nassau Bay, Texas.

Julia was married for over 50 years. She died unexpectedly while on a trip to San Francisco, California, in 1981, at the age of 74. She is buried in the Roberts family plot at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
