Marion met her husband, Reese Abbe, while he was attending Concordia Teachers College in Seward, Nebraska. Marion was a resident of Topeka, Kansas prior to relocating to Seward. Marion and Reese were married in 1953, and were blessed with a son, Paul. They lived in Omaha, Nebraska, until Marion passed away as a result of injuries she received in an automobile accident which occurred the previous day.
Reese relocated to Iowa, remarried in 1959, and passed away in 2014. Their son, Paul, survived his father and was living in North Carolina when Reese passed away.
