George Emory Johnson, 84, of Lynnville died Saturday, Feb. 27, at Pella Community Hospital.
The son of George M. and Emma Watson Johnson, he was born on Feb. 11, 1904, at Searsboro. He attended Bunker Hill School and Searsboro High School.
On Nov. 25, 1928, he was married to Lucy DeHoedt in Monroe. They farmed on the family farm for several years. After farming in the Searsboro and Lynnville areas, Mr. Johnson was employed as a carpenter for D & P Lumber Co. at Taintor. After his retirement, he continued to make deliveries for the Maasdam Sorghum Mill and the Lynnville Seed Co.
He is survived by his wife. He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and five sisters. Burial was in West Liberty Cemetery east of Searsboro.
