EDNA M. GARRETT

EDNA M. GARRETT, 74, of Fort Wayne, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, 5:35 p.m., at Parkview Hospital. Born Aug. 31, 1935, in Richmond, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Ray and Cora (Shifflet). She was a nursing Assistant at Saint Anne's Home, retiring in 1996.

Surviving are her daughter, Debra Stauffer of Fort Wayne; sons, Patrick (Sherri) Garrett of Addison, Mich., and John (Gail) Ray of Fort Wayne; sisters, Joan Rynerson of Fort Wayne, Lillian (Thomas) Spencer of and Ruth Ray, both of Bluffton; brothers, Lawrence (Judy) Ray R. of Leesburg, Fla. and John (Elizabeth) Ray of Fort Wayne; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Garrett; and two grandsons, Chad Stauffer and Clayton L. Garrett.

Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with calling one hour prior. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens. Preferred memorials to Cancer Services of Allen County
