Leona Robinson Anderson passed away peacefully the morning of Wednesday, October 7, 2009 due to extended illnesses and most recently cancer.

She was born March 7, 1939 in Coalville, Utah to Theodore and Annie Robinson. She had one sister and has six brothers. She graduated from North Summit High School and Ogden Beauty School.

On August 27, 1958, Leona married Larry Ivan Anderson. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church and served valiantly in the Relief Society, Young Women and most recently an ordinance worker in the Ogden LDS Temple.

Leona was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother. She had many talents that included sewing, knitting, oil painting, cooking, cake decorating and making candy. She played and taught the piano and organ. She always put others needs before her own and was always willing to help in anyway.

Leona is survived by her husband; their children, Debra (Evan) Fawcett, Clearfield; Blaine (Shelley) Jacksonville, FL; Louise (Dalan) Buckles, Clearfield; Bruce (Brenda), Bear River City; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; six brothers, Boyd (Susie), Eldon (Ranae), Darrell (Sally), Roger (Betty), Verlan (Pam), Darwin (Wendy) and two sisters-in-law, LuDean Burton and Gayle (Wally) Swanstrom.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, LaWanna Fitzgerald.

The family would like to thank Dr. Carl Gray, Dr. Glen Biddulph and their staff. Also, Legacy Hospice for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held Saturday October 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist's Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South.

Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
