Isidro graduated from Soccoro High School with the Class of 1964 and enlisted in the Marines 29 August 1966, at an Albuquerque Recruiting Office. He graduated from MCRD boot camp training in San Diego on 31 October 1966 with Platoon 2207.
When Isidro arrived in Vietnam he was assigned to Mike Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Isidro was on his way back to his unit from R&R in Formosa when the convoy he was traveling with was ambushed. The convoy was traveling on Highway QL-9 and 4 kilometers northwest of Ca Lu Airfield when the convoy was ambushed by hostile forces using mortar fire and automatic weapons fire. Isidro died as a result of fragmentation wounds to the head and body from mortar fire. The Marines lost 4 men and the Army lost 4 soldiers during the ambush.
Tour of duty unknown.
Survived by his parents, Bennie F and Josephine L Baca and his sister; Ana L Baca all of 606 Blue Canyon Road, Socorro, New Mexico.
