Charleston church member retired from The Herald
Funeral is Tuesday for Twila A. Yarian of 7169 E. State St., Jefferson Township. She died at 9:35 a.m. Thursday (6-7-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 90.
Mrs. Yarian was born Aug. 26, 1910, in Polk to Fred and Jennie Reichard Greenlee.
She was a bookbinder for The Herald for several years, retiring in 1972. She previously worked at the Allied Newspaper in Mercer and Sharon Commercial Printing.
Mrs. Yarian was a member of Charleston United Methodist Church, Jefferson Township, for more than 60 years and its United Methodist Women. She also was a member of Charleston Homemakers and the Charleston Yesteryears Group.
She enjoyed crafts, camping, cooking and gardening, and was a wonderful mother and a friend to many.
Her husband, Clyde H. Yarian, whom she married July 22, 1932, died July 21, 1991.
Surviving are: two daughters, Betty L. Davis, Mesa, Ariz.; and Mrs. W. Russell (Rosemarie) Michal, Mercer; a brother, Russell Greenlee, Sheakleyville; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, a brother, a great-grandchild, a great-grandson-in-law and a great-great-grandchild.
