Calgerhurn Campbell II is my great grandfather.
He was born in Ontario, Canada on 5th July 1846.
He was one of 8 children of Calgerhurn I & Catherine (Sinclair) Campbell.
The family immigrated to Sanilac County, Michigan from Ontario, Canada about 1858.
Calgerhurn II enlisted in the American Civil War as a Union Soldier on 03 Oct 1864 at Pontiac MI in Company K, Infantry Division and was Honorable Discharged 6 Sept 1865 at "Murfreesboro" (Murphysboro, IL).
Calgerhurn II married Ella Kidd 01 Feb 1873 in Bridgehampton, Sanilac Co., MI.
They had 2 children: Elizabeth/"Nora" and Amos/"George" and they lived in Port Hope, Huron Co, MI.
(George is my grandfather).
Calgerhurn died in Bay City, Bay Co., MI on 17 July 1916.
He is buried in Lakeport Cemetery, St. Clair, MI.

Calgerhurn's birthdate is taken from his request for
military pension Jun 1914. His brother, Lochlin, the informant on death certificate, gave a different birthdate that was record on the tombstone. Calgerhurn also had various spellings of his first name: Calhoun, Cal, Calhaon, Calquehon.
