Luther Leroy Roberts was the son of Charlie Bethel Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Burkhalter. He was known by the family as "Leroy".

Leroy and Juanita Posey were united in marriage on the 27 Nov. 1929 in Kemper County Ms. They were the parents of 12 children of which 10 lived to be adults.

Leroy and his family lived in several South Ms. counties, most of this time was in Pearl River or surrounding Counties until 1953. In 1953 the family relocated to Burleson, Johnson County Texas. where he purchased 5 acres of land. Some of his family currently live on this land as of this writing.

Leroy was of the Baptist faith, he was at church when he had a heart attack and died on Feb. 22, 1958, at the age of 52. He was interred at the Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville, Tarrant County, Texas. Luther shares a headstone with his son, PFC Eddie Leroy Roberts.
