Helen Peterson, age 91, of Sartell, Minn., died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at Country Manor Health Care Center, Sartell, Minn.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, at Faith Lutheran Church in Swanburg, rural Pine River, Minn. Burial will follow at the Swanburg Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 4-7 p.m. at the Kline Funeral Home in Pine River and one hour prior to services at the church.
Helen was born Dec. 7, 1912, in St. Paul, Minn., to Rudolph and Pauline Kuehn. As a young girl, the family moved to Fifty Lakes, Minn., where Helen attended grade school. She graduated from high school in Brainerd, Minn.
Helen married Raymond Peterson of Swanburg, Minn., in 1934. They lived in Swanburg for more than 40 years where Helen was a dedicated homemaker. She was an active charter member of Faith Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and held various positions in the church women's groups. Helen loved gardening, houseplants, needlework and caring for her family.
In 1993, Helen moved to the Country Manor Campus in Sartell where she received loving care until her death.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Leslie (Beverly) Peterson, of Sartell, Dean (Sandra) Peterson, of Scottsboro, Ala.; four grandchildren, Douglas (Janet) Peterson, of Becker, Debra (Brian) Baloun, of Sartell, Kimberly Peterson, of New York, and Kara (David) Pollnow, of St. Louis; four great-grandchildren, Eric and Mark Peterson, of Becker, and Amanda and Adam Baloun, of Sartell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Raymond Peterson in 1982, brother, Walker Kuehn in 1979, and sister, Alma Robison in 1996.
Memorials may be directed to Faith Lutheran Church of Swanburg.
