Joseph "Slow Poke" Roy Thibodeaux
August 2, 1952 - October 3, 2009
EUNICE~It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family of Joseph Roy "Slow Poke" Thibodeaux announces his passing on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Acadian Medical Center at the age 57. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 2:00 pm at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata. Rite of Committal will follow in the Frey Cemetery.

Joseph was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved his job offshore. Left behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 35 years, Rhonda G. Thibodeaux of Eunice; his loving mother, Cecile Leger of Eunice; two brothers, Anthony Thibodeaux and Melvin P. Thibodeaux, both of Eunice; one step-brother, Shannon Thibodeaux of Mamou; five sisters, Betty T. Fontenot of Eunice, Margaret T. Fontenot of Lafayette, Theresa T. Simon of Eunice, Susie T. Karimi of Merrillville, IN, and Marlene T. Robles of Yuma, AZ; a host of nieces and nephews; his two birds, Banjo and Chico; and his two dogs, Patches and Blue. Joseph was very much loved by his family, and will be deeply missed them, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Joseph is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Joseph Thibodeaux, and step-niece, Amanda Lee Thibodeaux.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home of Eunice on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm and again on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Monday evening.
