After reaching the age of twenty he dedicated himself to the ministry, and at length graduated at Middlebury College in the class of 1825. For a year he studied theology with Rev. Charles Walker of Pittsford, VT., and at the age of thirty was ordained a minister of the Congregational Church. His field of labor included New Haven, VT., Essex, NY, Montreal, P.Q., Irasburg and Plainfield, VT., where he died.
