Civil War Veteran Expires at Home Near Mount Vernon
Alexandria Elks to Hold Lodge of Sorrow This Evening for Deceased Member
Washington Post Bureau, 702 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia.
Colonel Albert D. Marshall, who had been ill at Riverside, near Mount Vernon for several months died at 3:05 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Kearns Marshall and two daughters, Mrs. Frank C. Creighton of Riverside and Mrs. J.J. Kirkland of New York.
Colonel Marshall was born at Littleton, Massachusetts 70 years ago and during the Civil War served with the artillery in the Federal Army from that State. After the War Colonel Marshall went to New York where he became prominent as a contactor and builder and an active worker for the Democratic Party. He retired from business and politics about six years ago and moved to Fairfax County where he had since made his home.
He was a member of Alexandria Lodge of Elks which will hold a lodge of sorrow at the Elks Home at 8 o'clock this evening. It is expected that burial will be in Arlington Cemetery.

Funeral of Colonel Marshall
Funeral services for Colonel Albert B. Marshall who died Thursday afternoon after a long illness will be held at the residence of his son-in-law, Frank C. Creighton, at Riverside near Mount Vernon tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Edgar Carpenter, rector of Grace Protestant Episcopal Church and the officers of Alexandria Lodge of Elks of which Colonel Marshall was a member. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery Monday morning. Alexandria Lodge of Elks held a lodge of sorrow last night and completed arrangements for attending the funeral services.
