Jessie A. Colwell, 78, of 724 W. Wilmot St. died at 4:36 p.m. Monday, May 19, 2003, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria. Born Nov. 1, 1924, in Chillicothe to Fred and Jessie Topping Allington, she married Virgil L. Colwell on Nov. 3, 1950, in Chillicothe. He died Dec. 4, 2002. She also was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Surviving are one daughter, Gayle Cowell of Princeton; one sister, Frieda Fisher of LaCrosse, Wis.; three brothers, William Allington of Chillicothe, Robert (and Mary) Allington of Santa Maria, Calif., and James Allington of Rockford; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
