NEWKIRK - Mrs. Gladys M. Prather, 86 died at 11:50 Sunday night in St Joseph Medical Center of injuries received in an automobile accident earlier Sunday.

Born June 28, 1890, in Florida County, Va., she was the daughter of Creed T. and Armelda Stigleman. She moved with her family to Oklahoma in a covered wagon as a small child, locating in Dewey County.

June 27, 1909, she married Fred Prather in Dewey County and they lived in that community until 1925, when they moved to Kildare. She had lived in Kay County since that time.

Fred Prather died in January 1952 and Mrs. Prather moved to Newkirk in 1967. She was a member of the First Baptist Church here.

Surviving are her two sons, Guy Prather, Ponca City, and Elvin Prather, Arkansas City; two daughters, Mrs. Belva Fellinger, Tulsa, and Mrs. Ruth Pappan, Derby, Kan.; two brothers, Posie Stigleman of Leedey, and Clint Stigleman, Elk City; a sister, Mrs. Alice Schaal, Colton, Calif., seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, a sister and one grandson.

The Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Newkirk First Baptist Church with Reverend Theodore Jacobs of Arkansas City officiating. Burial will be in Newkirk Cemetery under direction of Stahl Funeral Service.

The family will be at Mrs. Prather's home, 313 North Maple, in Newkirk.
