Funeral services for Lonnie Elmer Bennett, 69, who died June 18th at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital were held June 21st at the Dean Funeral Home in Caruthersville with the Rev. Ira Singleton officiating. Burial was in Little Prairie Cemetery.
He was born June 5, 1905 in Bogota, Tenn., the son of the late Samuel and Lucenida Kennedy Bennett. He was an employe of Brown Shoe Company until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pansy Wilbanks Bennett on April 21, 1963.
Survivors include four sons, Bobby Bennett of Dayton, Ohio, Billy Bennett of Houston, Tex., Benney Bennett of Ponce, Puerto Rico, ad Dicky Bennett of Caruthersville; five daughters, Melba Byrn of Caruthersville, Peggy Shearer of Three Rivers, Mich., Barbara Nolan of Saraharita, Ariz., Cindy Bell of Urbana, Ill. and Darla Patton of Denver, Colo.; his stepmother, Sadie Bennett of Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Melissa Faircloth of Memphis, Tenn., and Viola Jackson of Peoria, Ill.; two brothers, Ben Bennett of Bogota, Tenn. and Virgil Bennett of Peoria, Ill.; 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
