From the Beaumont Journal, Saturday, November 7, 1970, p. 3:

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. for Harold F. Gatlin, 49, of 2226 Hazel, in the L. M. Williams and Sons chapel with the Rev. Robert Walker and Dr. John Wesley Hardt officiating.

Gatlin died Friday at 10:45 p.m. in St. Elizabeth Hospital after a short illness. Burial will be in Abshire Cemetery, eight miles south of Devers, with Masonic Rites by Tolerance Lodge 1165 AF & AM.

He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the North End Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge No. 1249, A.F. and A.M., and the El Mina Shrine.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Anna Katheryn Gatlin; parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Gatlin; two daughters, Sandra L. Gatlin of Austin and Karla Gatlin of Beaumont, two sons, Gary H. of Austin and Gregory B. Gatlin, and a brother, Jack L. Gatlin, of Beaumont.
