Result of a Pleasure Boat on Mono Lake Capsizing.

Hawthorne (Nev.), June 1. - A dispatch from Bridgeport, Cal., dated May 30th, delayed in transmission, says: Yesterday afternoon Winslow P. Nay, an ex-Supervisor of Mono County, Frank Montrose, James H. Beane, John O. Malley, John Mathews and Frank Shelton were sailing on Mono Lake in Nay's launch, and when about half a mile from shore the boat was captized (sic) and all on board drowned. The wind was blowing a gale at the time, and they were warned that it was not safe to attempt to cross, but they persisted in going. (Sacramento Daily Union, 6/2/1898)
