C.S. Hepler of Knox Succumbs -- KNOX - Carnathon (Carney) Sloan Hepler of Knox RD 1 died at 5:21 pm Wednesday in the Oil City Hospital. Born August 6, 1879, in Limestone Township, Clarion County, he was a son of A.K. Hepler and Mary Emma Stahlman Hepler. He was married December 24, 1914, to Carrie L. Henry, who survives. Mr. Hepler was a retired farmer and a member of the St. Mark's Reformed Church of Monroe. In addition to his widow, he is survived by two sons, Sloan Delp Hepler of Tampa, Fla., and Norman K. Hepler of Knox RD1; a daughter, Mrs. Fred (Nellie) Stitt of Rimersburg RD2; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Mrs. Alberta Summerville and Mrs. Mae McKee, preceded him in death. Friends are being received at the Hawk Funeral Home in Sligo. Source: Derrick, Friday, July 12, 1963.
