Mrs. Minerva Sharpless, one of the older residents of the city, died yesterday morning at St. Joseph's hospital, after a lingering illness with kidney disease. The deceased had been ill for several months and death was not unexpected. She was 76 years of age and was born in Muskingum county, Ohio. She was married when a young woman to Mr. A. G. Creed, who died some years ago. Seven years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Joseph Sharpless, who survives her. Mrs. Sharpless had been a resident of Bloomington since the year 1852 and has a large number of friends who will regret to hear of her death. She was a member of the Episcopal church and the funeral services will be conducted by a layman of that church. The arrangements for the funeral have not been completed, but will be private, and probably to be held this afternoon. Mrs. Sharpless was the mother of Mr. Dudley Creed, the well known printer.
