Alinda Kay Carpenter Buffington, 54, died on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at her residence.
A resident of the Chattanooga North Georgia area for the past 36 years, she was previously of Titusville, Fl. Kay was a former employee of Wally's Restaurant and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Boyd Carpenter; mother, Winnie Pearl Lott; and brother, Kenneth Wayne Carpenter.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Neil Buffington Jr., of Ringgold; son, Neil Gaines Buffington III, of Ringgold; four sisters, Ladonna Matthews, of Atlanta, Delane Ogden, of McDonald, Tn., Nikki Thomas and Leslie Marquez, both of Titusville, Fl.; brother, John Popps of McDonald, Tn.; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 26, in the funeral home chapel with Steve Earnest officiating. Interment will follow at Anderson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until funeral time at the funeral home.
Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Ringgold Chapel, Ringgold.
