Anna Mae Billingsley, 82, of Crawfordsville died Sunday in the home of her daughter, Teresa Fritts, after a battle with stroke and related illness. She was born Sept. 20, 1926 in Bainbridge to Cecil Alonzo and Ida Evelyn (Hood) Stewart, both deceased. She attended Guion Schools. She was married to Ray L. Billingsley on Dec. 24, 1947. She was retired from Impex, formally Steel Industries, in 1983. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1431, the American Legion Post #72 and the Moose Lodge #6. She loved fishing, camping, mushroom hunting and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Fritts, Crawfordsville and Patricia (Hershel) Brenda of New Market. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, sisters, Louise Day Nichols of Crawfordsville, Virgie (Voris) Hubble and Mildren Hannah of Waveland; two brothers, Charles "Buster" Stewart of Fla., and Cecil "Pete" Stewart of Waveland, and her companion, Cleo Chastain of Roachdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, sons, Jerry Lee Billingsley and Terry Ray (Kathy) Billingsley, and sister, Nellie (Russell) Payne. She has chosen cremation. Graveside services will be held Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery on Grant Ave.
