RITES SET FOR CRASH VICTIM

Funeral rites for George C Hamilton, 80, prominent farmer and former commissioner of Decatur county, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howe funeral home.

The Rev Earl S Riley, pastor of the Kingston Presbyterian church of which he was a member, will officiate. Burial will be made in South Park cemetery. The body is at the funeral home, where friends may call.

Mr Hamilton met death in an automobile accident on the road south of the I.O.O.F. Home about 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

The son of Chester and Elizabeth Mitchell Hamilton, he was born on Aug 4, 1869, at the homestead which was acquired from the government by his grandfather, Cyrus Hamilton, in 1822.

Following his marriage to Edith Aldrich on Nov 23, 1892, he lived near New Salem for several years. Since 1900 he had resided south of Kingston, living in the same residence for nearly a half century. His wife preceded him in death on April 5, 1938, and a brother, Thomas M Hamilton, passed away on Sept 16, 1949.

Mr Hamilton was widely known as a farmer and cattle feeder. He had served two terms as county commissioner.

The survivors are: The daughter, Mrs Eugene M McCoy, a grandson, Gene Hamilton McCoy, of south of Kingston; and two sisters, the Misses Edith and Amanda Hamilton, of Greensburg.
