DOYLE - Vera M., died July 27, 2005, at the Hilton Convalescent Center in Ferndale, Mich. She was 92. Born Vera Briggs on July 13, 1913, in Youngstown, Ohio, she moved with her family to Seward, Pa., where she grew up, married and raised a family. She was married to Edward "Mutt" Doyle Sr., in 1929. Mr. Doyle died at their home in Seward in 1972. Mrs. Doyle, her husband and children were members of Holy Family Catholic Church of Seward. She moved to Michigan in 1978 and lived there until her death. In 1983, her first grandson, Lt.j.g. Edward Timothy Doyle, a naval aviator, was killed when his jet crashed into the Mediterranean Sea, while on a training mission from the carrier USS Nimitz. She was also preceded in death by infant grandson, John Doyle, in 1960. Two sons, Edward Jr., and his wife, Barbara (Solgan), of New Boston, Mich., and Boyd "Joe," and his wife, Miyako (Okamoto), of Ventura, Calif.; two daughters, Thomasine Glessner of Wixom, Mich., and Theresa Johnston of Pittsfield Township, Mich.; and her loving and supportive sons-in-law, Wayne Glessner and Steve Johnston, survived her. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Viewing was from 2 to 9 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at the O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home, Novi, Mich. A viewing and funeral Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church, Seward, Pa., and interment at the Armagh Cemetery, Armagh, Pa., were held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, the Rev. John Wilt officiated.
