David Jasper Forrester was the son of John C. Forrester and Nancy J. Mansfield. He was born in Lincoln County, Tennessee. The family migrated to Missouri between 1870-1880 and settled in the Buck Prairie community of Lawrence County. His parents are buried in the Buck Prairie Cemetery. David Forrester married Sarah Ellen Springer April 8, 1900, in Stone County, Missouri. They were parents of five children.
