Sherwood Currie Lambert, 65, of Jayess, died Sept. 20, 2009, at UAB [University of Alabama] Hospital in Birmingham, Ala.
Visitation is 5 to 10 tonight at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello. Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bobby Dawson and the Rev. Kenny Cantrell officiating. Burial will be in Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery in Monticello.
Mr. Lambert was born Jan. 15, 1944, in Lincoln County. He was the son of the late Beron and Ruby Sumrall Lambert.
He was a retired boilermaker and was a charter member of Local Union 110 of Hattiesburg. He also was a retired self-employed logger.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Hux Lambert of Jayess; two sons, Jason and Matthew Lambert, both of Jayess; a daughter and son-in-law, Anita and Cory Holden of Jayess; two grandsons, Stephen and Jacob Holden, both of Jayess; a granddaughter, Ashley Holden of Jayess; and a sister, Cathy Vernon of Brandon.
