Judy married Merle W. Boyer on May 3, 1980 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Battle Creek; he survives. She is also survived by two sisters, Jean (Karl) Wendel of Florida and Betty Lou (Jim) McDowell of Lansing; her mother-in-law, Nancy J. Gwynne of Battle Creek; a sister-in-law, Terrill Lee Jordan of Battle Creek; a brother-in-law, Jon A. (Karen) Gwynne of Chicago and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sandy Spivak.
Judy was an active member of the Lakeview Baptist Church and was a Red Cross volunteer. She was a very giving & loving person and was very dedicated to her family, husband, church & her dogs. Judy enjoyed taking color tours up north with her husband and traveling to Florida to visit her sister. She also enjoyed reading her Bible everyday and loved roses, especially the color red.
At the request of the family, they will receive friends 2:00 – 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2009 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Judy's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 21, 2009 at the Lakeview Baptist Church, 7 South 20th Street, Battle Creek with Pastor Dan Warren, officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
