Betty J Anderson, 86, a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Chillicothe, IL passed away at 5:42 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria. She was born in Chicago, IL on April 29, 1923. Betty graduated from Woodruff High School as a member of the class of 1941. Betty married John E (Jack) Anderson in Peoria, IL on July 4th 1946. Betty and Jack were blessed with 50 years of marriage. Jack passed away on May 9, 1997.
Betty is survived by her two sons, Steve (Tammy) Anderson, of Chillicothe, IL and Tim (Betty) Anderson of Peoria, IL; a sister, Kay Hulett of Peoria, IL; a brother, Fred Hulett of Chillicothe, IL; 5 grandchildren, Aaron (Niki) Anderson of Aurora, IL, Justin (Adrienne) Anderson of Ft Lauderdale, FL, Jeremy Anderson of Peoria IL, Kerry Anderson of Dupo, IL and Hannah (David) Dutton of Chillicothe, IL and 4 great grandchildren, Ella, , Abby, Joshua and Kennedy. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Tom and her husband Jack.
Betty worked at Illinois Bell and later joined Caterpillar Inc. retiring after 28 years of service in May 1982. She was a lifelong member of St Thomas Catholic Church in Peoria Heights, IL. She loved her Rosary and gathering with family on all occasions. She was a loving, nurturing wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother who will be missed by all those who loved her so very much.
Services were entrusted to Wright and Salmon Mortuary of Peoria, Illinois.
